Owned and operated Buhl Consulting.  Designed, built, and presently maintain six websites. 

Built and “troubleshot” personal computers.  Installed small networks (wireless and

wired), provided business development planning (pricing strategy, dealer recruiting and

retention, and web/dealer marketing policy) for a local manufacturer and sales for another

local company.

 

Computer Task Group, Inc. (CTG), Buffalo, New York (5 Years)

 

An ISO 9001 with operations throughout the United States and several countries in Europe.

 

Staffing and Office Manager, Syracuse/Albany, N.Y. Office

Coordinate the relationship between a staff of 26 to 40 consultants and multiple clients from Syracuse to Albany.  Provide the Human Resource function for the territory including salary

administration, client billing, complaint resolution, orientation, budgeting, revenue/profit forecasting, contract negotiation/renewal, et al.  Provide the technical liaison between Recruiting and the customer Account Executive functions. Managed office operations for the Syracuse local office (3.5 million-dollar annual revenue). Developed the Flex Staffing Initiative and a supporting Access Database Application, which provided a marketing methodology for developing new business.  The “newsletter concept” was later adopted by the corporate office through an outside service. Responsible for the business office.

 

Y2K Project Manager (Carrier Corporation)

A billable assignment through CTG lasting a year and half.  Responsible for coordinating the non-mainframe Y2K effort for the CSS (Commercial System Services) unit.  Entailed multi-department and outside vendor coordination and dealing with all levels of management.

 

 

Pneumo Abex Corp., Boston, Massachusetts (9 Years)

A holding company consisting of 14 companies across several of the United States.

 

Director of Systems Development and Office Operations

Built and maintained a strong team of 10-14 professionals, including three project managers through internal and external training and capable leadership.  Established and managed multiple, short and long-range project plans simultaneously. Developed strategic plans, budgets, et al. Additionally managed Office Administration, which included A/P, A/R, and building security/maintenance. Installed on-line, real-time MSA Payroll System over 14  divisions of Pneumo-Abex.  Installed McCormack & Dodge G/L, A/P, F/A, C/P, for most divisions under the Millennium (on-line, real-time) umbrella, reducing staff count by 8 people over four years.

 

New York Life Insurance Company (4 Years)

A 150-year-old major mutual life insurance company headquartered in New York City.

 

Training Supervisor

Trained 30 new and 50 established field underwriters (agents) in the use of insurance industry specific software and provided desktop support.  Developed and conducted sales and marketing classroom and field training and on-going mentoring.  Enforced company compliance issues for the Syracuse sales office.  Received a special company cash award for working three weeks in Boston assisting phone operators in the handling of customer service and technical insurance questions during the settlement of a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit.  Thorough knowledge of field office operations and insurance related products including various pension plans.
